Emily was born in Lexington, Kentucky, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Kentucky. Emily then moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law. While attending law school, Emily was the President of the Animal Law Society and earned a certificate in Environmental Law.
Emily began her practice as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit. Emily transitioned into dependency law as a Senior Attorney for The Department of Children and Family Services and as an Attorney ad Litem. After working for the State, Emily gained experience in civil litigation in insurance defense in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Jacksonville, Florida. Emily worked on first-party claims, third-party claims, and Personal Injury Protection litigation.
Emily now practices general estate planning and guardianship for her clients.
Emily is active in the Saint John's legal community, where she sits on the board of the Saint John's Bar Association and is an active member of the Inns of Court. Emily also spends her time volunteering as a board member of Saint Jude's Charity Events and in the classrooms of R.B. Hunt Elementary School.
When Emily is not at work or volunteering in the community, she enjoys spending time at the beach, on a boat, or in a kayak with her two boys and husband.
